The recently (2010) renovated Paseo Habana Hotel is in a quiet residential street in leafy Vedado.
The hotel offers reasonable facilities (especially considering the lower cost compared to the big hotels). The hotel is in the Vedado district which is much quieter than Old Havana. It felt very safe to walk around, it is a 10-15 minute walk to the Riviera and Melia Cohiba where you can find some upscale restaurants and tourist information.
The hotel has three floors with approximately 10 rooms per floor. Rooms were clean, windows opened to a breezy view of the rooftops & small courtyards, with the ocean in sight.
The hotel is two or three blocks from John Lennon park (worth the trip to see the statue of John and meet the caretaker who puts his glasses on for tourist photos)
